Tanzania was one of the first countries in the SADC region to conduct Time Use surveys and lobby for the Multiple Roles of Women to be recognized in policy. Notable benefits came out from the TUSs which include efforts by government to reduce the burden of household chores on women in order to take part in other livelihood enhancing activities. This factsheet focuses on the status of women in the economic sector and gender responsive budgeting in Tanzania drawing from the SADC Gender and Development Monitor 2018.
