The booklet discusses gender issues in SADC 10 years after the Fourth World Conference on Women held in September 1995 in Beijing, China. Women in the region present their opinion and perspective on progress, opportunities and challenges since the conference that set clear targets and actions towards for gender equity and equality. The book focuses on critical areas of concern set in the Beijing Platform for Action such as the economy, education and training, HIV and AIDS, partnerships, legal reforms, and violence against women, as well as the media and gender mainstreaming. The booklet is available in English and Portuguese versions.
