SADC TODAY VOL 23 No.6 October 2021 – REGIONAL INTEGRATION must be advanced from “stated intention to actual application” to ensure that citizens fully enjoy the benefits of belonging to a shared community in southern Africa. The new SADC Executive Secretary, Elias Mpedi Magosi emphasised this when he paid a courtesy call on the SADC Chairperson, President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi in September. He said one way of advancing regional laws from being stated intention to actual application is for Member States to sign and ratify all protocols and agreements.
