The INTERAISE documentation collection include environmental profiles, SOE reports, national conservation strategies, reviews, environmental action plans, United Nations Conference on Environment and Development(UNCED) national reports, and similar documents which provide information - particularly statistics, maps and charts - on the environment and natural resources in southern Africa.

Document Searches

Searches for the INTERAISE databases can be undertaken by IMERCSA staff to identify documents relating to the particular country or the region in particular. The database can also be searched for information using author, title and subject keywords.

Document Supply

Original copies of documents listed in the Directory of Environmental Information and Organisations in Southern Africa, or the INTERAISE database can be obtained from the source, or IMERCSA library. The library charges a fee for photocopying.

Document Acquisition

The INTERAISE Information Service will continually expand the library holdings by identifying and acquiring current and relevant documents on the region's state of the environment.

Local Access to Information

The INTERAISE project is in the process of compiling a CD-ROM, which will contain important environmental documents in southern Africa. The CD-ROM will be distributed widely to environmental information centres and decision-makers. This will enable individuals in developing countries to easily access INTERAISE information.
